Toyota Auris Touring Sports

Toyota Auris Touring Sports

The Toyota Auris Touring Sports we saw a few months ago in these pages, when we talk about his design studio "black" . But now it is available in Spain and a first in the market, this is the first full hybrid wagon full hybrid C-segment .

The new Toyota vehicle from the base of the Toyota Auris but now has greater capacity and functionality without thereby have lost none of dynamic characteristics that stand out in the five-door version. Let all its details and features.

Toyota Auris Touring Sports, leading luggage

Toyota Auris Touring Sports 1

The new Toyota Auris Sports Touring retains the same wheelbase as the five-door brother, but is increased 2,600 mm in 285 mm length. This translates into a cargo volume increased in the trunk, namely 530 liters which can be up to 1658 liters with the seats folded.

And whats more surprising: the possibility of introducing objects over two meters long and the total length in this configuration (all seats can be folded 60:40) is 2,047 mm.

As the hybrid versions battery mounted under the rear seats, luggage capacity of these models is exactly the same as for their models petrol and diesel counterparts.

The new Toyota Auris Sports Touring is equipped with Toyotas Easy Flat system , which lets you customize the boot options to suit our needs: folding rear seats with one touch, the trunk floor with double bottom, luggage cover two-way , two positions separating network, bag hooks, aluminum roof rails, three 12-volt outlets (including one in the trunk) and trunk light.

Of course, life on board has also been studied in depth and has inside with multiple gaps to let everyday objects as a sunglasses holder, hooks, one purse, four drink holders and four bottle holders, an armrest in the center console sliding with briefcases and small storage space in the dashboard and in the back of the center console.

To that embodiments of loading and unloading are even simpler, the mouth of the trunk is 100 mm lower than the five-door version with the new rear bumper design.

Toyota Auris Sports Touring, exterior bold and dynamic

Toyota Auris Touring Sports 2

For the new Toyota Auris Touring Sports have taken all the guidelines that incorporates in its last scattering the Toyota Auris hatchback. This is a bold and dynamic design which maximizes the advantages of reduced overall height of the model and a center of gravity lower. The drag coefficient of the Auris Touring Sports, CD0 only, 28, helps reduce fuel consumption.

The new tailgate next to the bumpers and light clusters wrap design reinforce its silhouette. At the top, has a floating chrome spoiler.

The Auris Hybrid Sports Touring incorporates exclusive details that identify it as the flagship of the range. The lower grille and rear diffuser lower bumper are painted bright exclusive graphite hybrid, and Toyota emblems on the hood and tailgate are in blue hybrid. There are hybrid logos on the front fenders and a distinctive hybrid of the tailgate. Alloy wheels 15 "and darkened 17" have a new unique design full hybrid model full hybrid.

2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Review Price Exterior Interior

Information Specification Modification Image Review  2013  Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible
The pace and frequency of change to this most heroic of all Chevrolets can be charitably described as glacial, and our assessments of the changes, when they finally occur, don’t always jibe with the perceptions of the designers, builders, marketeers, and flacks.
For example, when the Corvette’s most recent major update came along for model year 2005, purporting to mark the transition from generation five (C5) to generation six, we characterized the sum of the changes as “Corvette C5 and 11/16ths.”

The members of  the Corvette tribe don’t refer to their baby in alphanumerics. It’s known internally as the Y platform and has been for decades. But that doesn’t keep the rest of the world from identifying the generations as C4, C5, and C6. Soon to become C7.
So, will the next generation merit the full seventh generational designation? Here’s what we know. Or at least think we know.

As it prepares to be replaced, the American automaker is giving the C6 ‘Vette a new paint shade, Night Race Blue. The Night Race Blue is a classy shade of blue which will complement the existing Supersonic Blue Metallic and Carlisle Blue Metallic that is currently being offered.

Buyers of the 2013 Corvette will also get to choose between four Black Painted aluminum wheel choices, instead of the Competition Gray that was offered in years prior. Choices include a 5-spoke in 18- or 19-inch sizes, the Grand Sport in 18- or 19-inch, the Spider design will come in 18- or 19-inch, and the ZR1-styled wheel will be offered in 19- or 20-inch.

Though its comfortable, the cabin isnt all that well-made in some respects. Upgrading to the available leather surface package is almost mandatory to avoid cheap plastics, and even then, the design and fit-and-finish are behind the times.

Crash testing is not a common occurrence at the upper end of the sports car spectrum, and the Corvette is no exception; it hasnt been put through the wringer by either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Nevertheless, it comes with a good array of standard safety equipment, including front and side airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability and traction control. Visibility can be compromised at times, however, due to the low-slung stature and smallish windows.

As for features, the Corvette is somewhere in the middle ground: not quite luxury, but not spartan either. With satellite radio, navigation, Bluetooth, a heads-up display, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, and a power drivers seat, it will meet most buyers needs, but it wont wow with its luxurious or high-tech amenities.

2013 Ford Atlas Concept

Ford unveiled the Ford Atlas Concept to showcase the design, capability, fuel efficiency and smart technologies that will define future pickup trucks.

"The Ford Atlas Concept previews the innovations that will transform what people expect from their pickup," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development. "With 36 years as Americas best-selling pickup, we are absolutely committed to setting the agenda in the truck market."

Design with purpose

The Ford Atlas Concept is inspired by decades of listening to customers at the places they work and play. The result is a purpose-driven design with prominent wheel arches, a wide stance and chiseled grille - all to reinforce its functional Built Ford Tough® image.

"We wanted the concept to reflect how Ford trucks help customers in both their worlds - professionally and personally," said J Mays, Ford group vice president and chief creative officer. "Every surface and feature in the vehicle has been crafted for purpose and capability while retaining an unmistakable Built Ford Tough look."

Designers enhanced truck functionality, while creating new advanced features(see infographic here). For example, multiple tie-down points are integrated within the cargo box walls and load floor, along with 110-volt electrical outlets in the cargo box to charge power tools. An integrated roof carrying system and hidden extendable ramps give the truck unique functionality for a variety of jobs.

The interior is themed with structural styling cues and features the latest thinking in comfort, utility and refinement. Innovative, thin, lightweight seating in comfortable leather allows for extra legroom for rear passengers - along with integrated storage for smaller items. "Floating" instrument pods and glove-friendly buttons and controls keep the interior functional and ruggedly stylish.

Leading fuel efficiency

The Ford Atlas Concept features a next-generation EcoBoost® powertrain, which introduces truck-enhanced Auto Start-Stop engine shutoff technology. Auto Start-Stop shuts off the engine when stopped in traffic to save fuel - and smartly suspends the feature when the truck knows it is towing.

EcoBoost engines use gasoline direct injection and turbocharging to deliver fuel-economy gains of up to 20 percent and reduction of CO2 emissions of up to 15 percent, compared with larger-displacement engines. More than 500,000 EcoBoost engines have been sold globally, including 250,000 in the Ford F-150.

The Ford Atlas Concept goes further to save fuel through a combination of active aerodynamic elements that reduce wind resistance. They include:
  • Active Grille Shutters: Automatic shutters behind the grille stay open when extra engine cooling is needed, such as during low-speed stop-and-go driving or while working in hot weather. The shutters automatically close to improve aerodynamics when cruising on the highway at steady speeds
  • Active Wheel Shutters: Automatic shutters in the wheels are hidden to improve style at rest and low speeds, but automatically close at highway speeds to improve aerodynamics. Self-charging batteries use energy from the wheels motion to power the shutters
  • Drop-Down Front Air Dam: A drop-down front wind spoiler lowers at highway speeds to improve underbody airflow. The air dam is raised at low speeds to improve ground clearance - helpful for off-roading
  • Power Running Boards: Auto-deploying running boards help passengers enter the truck at rest and tuck up against the truck when it is moving to improve aerodynamics and ground clearance

The combination of these fuel-saving features saves more than 2 mpg on the highway without diminishing towing or hauling capability.

Work and play smarter, not harder

Ford Atlas Concept is a rolling showcase of features that improve capability, durability and productivity to meet the diverse needs of pickup truck owners. Features include:
  • Dual-Purpose Tailgate Step and Cargo Cradle: The acclaimed Ford Tailgate Step goes a step further by adding the ability to also act as a cargo cradle - lifting and holding extra-long cargo items above the truck and freeing valuable bed spaceTrailer Backup Assist: This segment-first innovation allows drivers to back a trailer with the twist of a knob. Ford research shows that backing a trailer is often the most intimidating task a truck customer can face
  • Dynamic Hitch Assist: Hitching a trailer can be time consuming and difficult. Dynamic Hitch Assist helps precisely line up the trucks hitch with the trailer coupling, eliminating maneuvering guesswork by showing visual cues in the trucks center display screen
  • 360-Degree Point-of-View Camera: A Ford truck first, the system gives a birds-eye view of the truck to help position the vehicle in tight places or when there are obstacles near the truck - such as on a busy job site or grocery store parking lot
  • LED Headlamps and Taillamps: Advanced LED lighting offers better road illumination than conventional halogen or HID lights and lasts longer. LED lamps also offer near-instant response, giving valuable extra warning time for following traffic
  • LED Cargo Box and Side Mirror Lighting: Advanced, powerful yet efficient LED lighting brightly lights the cargo box and job site after the sun goes down with minimal battery drain compared to standard headlights or plug-in lights
  • Hidden Cargo Ramps: Lightweight, durable loading ramps stowed below the cargo box can be quickly removed and set up to assist with loading wheeled items into the bed - from landscaping equipment to dirt bikes

Siemoneit Racing’s VW Golf R Black Pearl

While VW’s 270-horsepower Golf R hatchback is hardly underpowered, the engineers over at the German tuning firm Siemoneit Racing felt like it could use some extra ponies.
Siemoneit Racing calls its tuned VW Golf R the ‘Black Pearl’for obvious reasons- and it offers customers a choice of two performance packages. The first boosts the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine’s output from 270HP and 320Nm to 355-horses and 485Nm (357.7 lb-ft) through thanks to the updated ECU software, custom exhaust and a new air intake system.
The second and more comprehensive package transforms the Golf R into a 530-horsepower monster by further tweaking the engine software, and adding a larger turbocharger, a new intercooler and a different exhaust system.
Other available options include a lightweight hood made out of carbon fiber.

2012 Toyota Prius C

The Toyota Prius is undoubtedly the poster child of hybrid vehicles. While it wasnt the first hybrid sold in America, it is the most popular and recognizable among the green car segment. Likely bolstering this trend will be the 2012 Toyota Prius C. The "C" stands for city, as this smaller and lighter Prius is touted by Toyota as "an urban-friendly vehicle with an engaging driving experience [and] hatchback utility." While we generally disregard manufacturer positioning statements like these as marketing speak, its actually a pretty apt description.
Okay, Ill admit it -- I was pretty skeptical when I heard Toyota was planning to parlay the Prius into an entire family of cars. Then the Prius v came out, offering SUV-like space with Prius-like fuel economy, and I was half convinced. Now that Ive driven the new Prius c -- the baby Prius, if you will -- consider me won over.

With a more familiar, traditional small-car profile and package, yet the same best-in-class 50-mpg figure (actually 53 mpg city, 46 highway)—matched with a base price of just $19,710—the Prius C should attract a wider swath of value-conscious motorists.

As the third (and smallest) unique body style in the Prius family, the Prius C is about 157 inches long and 67 inches wide. Its closer in size to the Toyota Yaris Liftback than to the Toyota Matrix—meaning its a true subcompact, and you get all the maneuverability and parking advantages. Matched with that more ordinary five-door profile is a smooth, low front end and drawn-back headlamps that closely resemble those used in the rest of the Prius lineup. Meanwhile, the new Prius C doesnt look all that much different than Toyotas somewhat less expensive Yaris, in profile and from some angles. The look is somewhat slab-sided by todays standard, but there is an upkick just in front of the rear wheels. In back, the look is typical for the class, with vertical taillamps and a spoiler smoothing out aerodynamics at the rear of the roofline. Inside, the 2012 Toyota Prius C has an all-new dashboard that draws its centrally mounted Multi Information Display at the base of the windshield from the larger Prius, and some of its switches and minor controls from the Yaris.

The 2012 Toyota Prius C represents the fourth model in the family, joining the conventional Prius (now referred to as the liftback), the Prius Plug-in Hybrid and the larger Prius V. Compared to the Prius liftback, the new Prius C measures about 19 inches shorter lengthwise and 2 inches shorter in height and width, making it slightly bigger than the subcompact Toyota Yaris. Its also more than 500 pounds lighter, which is particularly advantageous for fuel economy and handling.
The Prius C is smaller and lighter, so its powertrain is downsized to match. Theres a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, making 73 horsepower, and the automakers Hybrid Synergy Drive includes a smaller motor system and 0.9-kWh battery pack—with the system altogether making 99 hp. Acceleration is about on par with other eco-minded small cars. Serving as a reminder that performance is definitely not the priority, the Prius C offers an Eco mode, which reduces power output and has different c
limate-control settings, as well as an EV mode, for going up to a half mile on electricity only, but theres no Power or Sport mode. As for handling, the Prius C is surprisingly nimble and meneuverable, but again, dont expect the dynamics of a sport-tuned hot hatch. But the payoff is clear at the pump: In 50 miles of driving around San Diego—including freeways, two-lane roads, and stop-and-go—we saw a 51.4-mpg average.

Theres more cabin space in the Prius C than you might suspect. Front seats feel about the same as in other Prius models; in back theres no mistaking it for a mid-size car, but six-footers should be able to fit without any fuss. The nickel-metal-hydride battery pack, which is smaller than that used in the other Prius models, is packed neatly under the back seat.
Standard safety features on all 2012 Toyota Prius C models include stability control, traction control, antilock brakes (front discs, rear drums), hill start assist, front-seat side seat cushion airbags, a driver knee airbag and side curtain airbags. In Edmunds brake testing, a Prius C came to a stop from 60 mph in a better-than-average 118 feet.

Inside, the Prius C features a sleek, modern design with a mix of the familiar as well as the unconventional. Centrally located gauges are mounted high atop the dashboard, which can be a bit odd at first, but makes for easier reading. To its detriment, the cabins plastics are several steps below the materials youll find in other subcompacts like the Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Accent. The cloth seat upholstery is nothing special, but its certainly better than the optional "faux leather." It may be made from eco-friendly materials, but its probably the cheapest-feeling material weve felt covering a car seat in quite some time.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Prius C the highest possible rating of "Good" in the frontal-offset, side and roof strength tests.
As expected, fuel economy is outstanding. Outside of a plug-in hybrid, youre not going to do better than with a Prius C. An unfortunate downside to the economy-focused mission, however, is a noticeable degradation in ride quality. Road imperfections are met with an uncharacteristic harshness and, combined with detectable amounts of wind noise, give the Prius C a budget-car feel.
